A single column is also boring and limited

I won’t pretend there aren’t problems with single column web design. Here they are:

Everything else being equal, it’s more boring. You can design an interesting website with only one column. But you have many more opportunities if you use more columns.
A single column website works well for some projects. It doesn’t work well for others, like an e-commerce business.
