Accessible

It’s a shame accessibility didn’t come up more in my research. Rest assured that simple design still brings accessibility benefits.

A simple colour palette is more accessibly by default.

[Colour is important for] accessibility ... lots of color schemes are problematic for people with vision impairments or color blindness, so it's often better to keep things as simple as possible to remain accessible for everyone.

If you’ve read the book up to this point you’ll recognise these principles from the WCAG website. All of these are easier, or already provided, if you focus on simple design.
